Welcome to First Grade!
Here is our new class webpage! I will update it weekly with news and exciting infomation about our class! I am very excited about this school year. We will learn many new things!
Some highlights this year:
We will be doing so many things! Here are just a few!
* Morning Meeting is a new addition to our day that builds friendship and teamwork. Ask your child about activities that we do each day.
* We will be exploring a new Science Unit on Weather. Talk about the weather each day!
* Writer's Workshop is always fun. Your child will "publish" thier own pieces of writing during the year. We will celebrate our writing many times during the year, We will have a big celebration at the end of they year that we would love for you to attend. Ask your little "author" what they are writing about!
* We will be taking some really exciting field trips this year. Watch for permission slips to come home!
* Reading Centers are fun! Children will work in Centers each day. They will read stories and focus on important literacy skills. Don't forget to read at home each night!
* Sorting, counting, adding, subtracting, tellng time, and counting money are just some of the skills we will be working on in Math this year. Math homework is a good reinforcement of what we are doing each day!
